I hopped a plane from Denver to Girona yesterday, home away from home. The flight was good, made especially comfortable by the lack of passengers....I had a whole row to myself. Watched Blades of Glory, yes, I know, but actually a pretty entertaining flick. The whole culture of professional male figure skaters and their underlying sexual homogamy is done tastelessly by Will Farrell, and Napoleon just makes it worse, or is that better?? Hehe, hard to say....It was good enough to keep me awake, I had the pleasure of riding the train from Barcelona to Girona, not bad, about two and a half hours if you know what you are doing....Will, my teammate was lugging a bike box, AND he had to stand because the car was so full. When you are working on two hours of sleep, the heat, and a slow train, it isn't pretty...So yeah, my trip was good! I have about five days to adjust to Spanish time, then we fly to Portugal for Joachim Agostino, I know, obscure name, but hey when THE tour is happening, it is tough to have other good races. Cancellara, vrooom!! For me, five days with the infamous Portuguese riders, an 8k prologue, a mountain top finish, and a super hard finishing circuit race, should be fun, looking forward to it, thanks for reading, j, over-and-out.
