Going to Mexico

Posted by whitey on 4/15/2008 on whitey's blog

In four hours, my fiancé and I will be boarding an airplane to Phoenix. After the short one-hour flight we’ll be met by or friends and spending a night there before driving across the boarder to Puerto Penasco. It’s a great little town in Mexico right on the northern most point of the Gulf of California. We are staying at a really nice beach house for ten days with two other couples. This will be one of the longest stretches I have gone without a bike so I will have to find other ways to stay in shape. Learning how to surf or a run along the beach should do the trick. One of the days I plan on taking the 300 mile trip to the place where I crashed during the Vuelta Sonora, two years ago. My memory of the where I crashed is spotty and I’m hoping to put a few pieces together. I’m sure it will be weird seeing the place where I almost died and it’s probably completely different than I remember. I just put new batteries in my camera so if I can find the town and the little one room hospital I’ll take pictures. Wish me luck.
