Posted by whitey on 11/23/2007 on whitey's blogI hope your meal was as good as mine. Not only was the turkey great but the sweet potatoes with marshmallows baked on top was amazing. Maybe I missed something growing up, but I have never even heard of this before. When I saw them dumping marshmallows on I thought they were nuts. Five minutes later her dad pulled out the flaming dish which had apparently been in too long. Maybe he did it on purpose; I do that over the campfire sometimes. Either way, it tasted great and I hope to include this dish with Thanksgiving from now on. Looking back the whole night was a lot of fun. We played the new Nintendo Wii, which is the interactive game system where you actually get a workout playing. After a nice round of golf, her two brothers played a game of baseball which we found out can be a bit dangerous. Jared was swinging at the ball as her dad walked by and back handed him right in the face. In true Boulder style he iced his face with a bag of organic peas. He would have used the bag of organic soy beans but Lara used them earlier on her back after she slipped on the steps and spilt her wine. Of course they used sea salt and San Pellegrino Sparkling water to clean it up. I guess this was my first real introduction to her family and I loved every minute of it.
