Posted by whitey on 8/10/2007 on whitey's blogDay three of cyclocross training was AWESOME!! First of all there was a little cloud cover so the temperature was perfect. Randomly, I started heading south and rode the South Boulder Creek Trail over to Marshal Mesa Trail. Since I had no particular plan on where I was going I turned down a trail I had never seen before which ended up creating the best two-hour cyclocross route yet. It turned into single track that winded through the high plains and cow pastures. I even had to negotiate my way through a small heard of cows and dodge this crazy huge red grass hopper. The best part is that it connects to another trail which brings you back to Boulder, so I was able to ride a nice loop. I’m not sure where this trail came from but I don’t think it was there last year. Who knows? Either way, I love finding new routes and traveling that road less traveled.
