Posted by whitey on 10/20/2007 on whitey's blog | Groups: Team EinsteinI just finished racing stop two of the Boulder Cyclocross Series. As usual the field was just over 50 and there was no lack of fast riders. A few of us rode to the race which took about 45 minutes. It was really windy but was a great warm up. I didn’t have time to get a practice lap so the mud pit just after the start was a big surprise. You had to dismount into this muddy ditch with running water and run up the steep, slippery hill on the other side. (Wish I would have had spikes on my shoes.) Although I was called up in the fourth row, I lined up on the far side and got a good start. Fellow Einstein’s rider, Brad White was right behind me. We rode in the top ten until gaps started opening up. This is when Brad pulled out the diesel engine he keeps in his jersey pocket and powered up to the top three. I battled for tenth place most of the race which is where I finished. Brad held off, mountain bike legend Pete Weber for third. Einstein’s had a strong presence and we all had fun. Ryan Hamity was even out there showing off his power.

It was fun riding around in circles with you and Ryan yeserday. I
just posted some photos on the team site. Hope things went well today.
No gloves would suck.
