There were two races to choose from today. One was five minutes from my house in Boulder and the other was down in Denver at Invesco Field. Tough choice, but there was more prize money at Invesco and it was USCF, so that’s where I went. Besides, it was kind of cool racing where the Broncos play. With forty-minutes to go, we attacked and a three man break formed. Teammate Jack Seehofer and I were away with a Rocky Mounts rider. The three of us worked together and put about a 40 second gap on the field. Then the tactics started between the two Einstein’s riders and Cory, the Rocky Mounts guy. With three laps to go I attacked on the hill only to get caught with one lap to go. I couldn’t catch a wheel as they went buy so I ended up placing third. Jack won the race with Cory finishing second. Einstein’s also had riders winning the field sprint for fourth and close behind in sixth. This gives me the final points for my my 1 upgrade and the best part is, I did it on my Primus Mootry cyclocross bike.
