Joby's Cherry Creek T.T.

Last night at the Cherry Creek Res. in Aroura Co. there was the 1st. event of a 7 race time trial series that happens every year known as the C.C.T.T. and it was a ton of good times were had by all.
I was lucky enough to have a later start time because the wind kicks up till about 7:00pm. and then it's as calm as you like.

My T.T. went well considering I went a little conservative at times on the course and still posted a good time only to be bested by a small VW of a rider named
Micheal Carter.
He has the ability to get so low to the ground as a rider and his power to weight ratio is well like a VW engine.
He'll come by you like your standing still.
Mr. Carter is the former Pro from the 80's and 90's who has raced more miles in his career then most people will ever race or ride in a lifetime maybe 2 lifetimes.
Needless to say that has won and still continues to win many races if and when he feels up to it.
Like last nights T.T. he posted the fastest time on the night a 21:49 over a 10.46 mile course slightly hilly, windy and cold.
In the pro 1/2 field I was 2nd with a time of 23:21 yeah not great but not bad either.
The best part of the C.C.T.T. was the people watching young riders, older riders like Mr. Carter it didn't matter everyone was in the Zone they had their T.T. gear and were ready to go fast.
Even if they weren't posting fast times they thought in their minds they looked fast and everyone I watched going out or coming into the finish had fun doing it.
I was in line waiting to pick up my race # and a rider said, It's just another Wednesday ride in the park the sun is out, the roads are dry and I get to ride my bike it's a good day.
At the end of the day I think that as cyclists we are all in need of something we can all relate to in our own way when we ride our bikes.
If it's racing or going on a ride with friends or just going for a ride where ever, the bicycle is a good thing to have as an outlet for everyone.
All that matters is that your having fun and if your not then why do it.
Needless to say last night's C.C.T.T. was just that FUN...
