Posted by whitey on 1/25/2008 on whitey's blog I just received a sneak peak of the official guide to the Amgen Tour of California. It looks awesome and I wish I was good enough to race in it, especially when the roster is loaded with ex-teammates and fellow competitors. The first thing I noticed was a flat TT for the prologue. Last year it was up that steep hill where yourcycling.com member Jason Donald took second. The next thing I noticed was the addition of a new course on stage three with a defining climb up MT Hamilton which will help sort out the GC guys. The best part though, is the final stage. It’s a 150 km point to point road race with some nice climbing which may see a change in the KOM or Yellow Jerseys. Then it finishes with six 5-mile laps around the Rose Bowl. A sprint finish is expected!! The race starts February 17th in Palo Alto-Stanford University. Each stage will be aired on Versus Saturday, February 9 PREVIEW SHOW – 3PM PST / 6 EST | |
