Stage 7

The last stage has come. It’s not the hardest of the stages but with the legs tired and many hills it hurt. A break went right away and I was so close to getting in it but a prodir rider and an Aussie didn’t want to work anymore so we were caught by the peleton and 18 riders went free. Rabobank went to the front and set temp and I stayed near the front with Tijs protecting him from the wind and getting him what he needed. It was a fast stage with a couple of hard climbs. Coming into the finish we were flying. I believe all the break was brought in with 1 K to go except one rider who stayed away. I moved up a little late but felt good coming into the finish. I was happy to come across and complete this stage race that is known as one of the hardest ones in Europe. I believe this makes it 4 stage races for my career. I hear your body gets used to recovering and doing stage races. All I know is my body hurts and I’ll take a day off and then do a few easy days before racing again on the 24th of June. I think I’ll enjoy some cookies and beer out on the patio tonight.

Thanks to all of you for your support during this event!!!

having lived thru some fairly challenging physical and mental events with you (Ironman and marrying jj are some of the biggies coming to mind. :) ) i can not even imagine the physical thrashing that you have been thru in Spain..... if anyone can thrive in that environment it is you. you have been blessed with a motor and clutch that is unmatched in my experience. don't be afraid to pull out a little can of w.a. this weekend and give the boys in the old country something to remember.
Go Disco Marco!

Dude Brad,

Nice job buddy. Cool to hear about all your adventures. Every time I read about what you are doing, I want to go out and hammer on my bike. Thanks for the encouragement.

Brad man, you're awesome! Put some hurt into those boys over there. It's great to check the blog and see what you have to say.
