Posted by whitey on 9/28/2007 on whitey's blog | Groups: Team EinsteinAfter another long day of lounging by the pool at Treasure Island Resort in Las Vegas, we went to watch the final CRIT of the USA CRIT Series. Team Einstein’s snuck in early to score a sweet parking spot right after the start/finish line. A large group of us piled on top of the van nearly collapsing it like a tin can. From the top we could almost see the entire course and watch the action unfold. Ivan Dominguez (Toyota-United Pro Cycling) pimped Martin Gilbert and Dave McCook(Kelly Benefit Strategies/Medifast Pro Team) at the line for the win after sitting on their wheels for three laps. There were a lot of crashes, most of which, were caused by title sponsor Rock Racing. It was a very exciting race with primes almost every other lap and one worth $5,000. The real excitement for Team Einstein’s was watching the Industry Cup. It’s a CRIT for people who work in the industry only. Einstein’s/MOB employees pretty much dominated the race with a rider off the front or in the break constantly. With one lap to go there was one of the worst crashes I have ever seen. It happened right in front of us and bikes where flying everywhere. After the crash we were only left with one rider but it was still a great race to watch.

Dominguez may have sat on a wheel for a lap or two, but when it came right down to it, he was the only guy who could make up a four-second deficit on the leader on the bell lap. The guy is the real deal.

Dominguez is definetly the real deal. Much better than I'll ever be that's for sure. Sitting in for the sprint and timing it just right is part of the game. That being said, I always root for the team who does the most work, which was without a doubt, the Kelly Benefit squad.
