Cyclocross

Racing Tomorrow

Posted by whitey on 10/19/2007 on whitey's blog

Stop two of the Boulder Cyclocross Series is tomorrow at Interlocken. Of the 3-4 CX series in CO it is has the biggest prize list so a lot of really fast people show up. I missed the first one because my bikes weren’t back from Vegas yet so that means I have to do well in the rest of them. There are five left and the one tomorrow is usually my worst race of the season. The course just doesn’t fit my style of riding. It sounds like there will be a lot of people out there cheering for me so I went out and did some openers today.

Father like Son

Posted by whitey on 10/18/2007 on whitey's blog

Once again I am sorry for the lack of updates. The flu has gone through my house and although I have managed to dodge the bullet I have been busy taking care of my two boys. Jake is feeling much better today and is excited to compete in his second cyclocross race of the year on Sunday down in Golden, CO. The weather forecast is predicting some good ol Belgium weather. He races at 9 am and I race on the same course at 3pm so we’ll have some time to kill. He doesn’t know it yet but we’re going to take him to the amusement park while we wait.

Foxy!

The Girls

In most places I have lived, the animals are afraid of humans and the ladies are scarce. Not in Boulder. Here you get to see plenty of each and today was no exception. I saw two fox’s on my ride, one at the flower shop and the other on the trail. Luckily I was able to snap a picture of the one on the trail but I’ll just use an old one of the ladies. The prettiest one on the left is my girlfriend, Lara. She’s probably the most amazing person ever!

DBC Events Going Big

Posted by whitey on 8/12/2007 on whitey's blog

I stopped by Denver Boulder Couriers the other day to get some inside information on the first ever UCI cross race in Las Vegas. Luckily I was able to catch the main man himself, Chris Grelish, who is also promoting the Redline Cup on 11/3 and the Boulder Cup on 11/4. If you were at last years Boulder Cup you know it’s not one to be missed and the same will undoubtedly hold true for his three events this year. Cross Vegas will be under the lights in Vegas on Wednesday September 26 during Interbike. Can you say BLING, BLING.

Boulder Cyclocross on TV

Posted by whitey on 3/9/2007 on whitey's blog

If you didn’t catch the post from yourcycling.com member Quadzilla. The USGP Cyclocross race in Boulder will be aired on TV throughout March. The best part is it’s on during normal hours, unlike the last MTB Olympic race which was on at 1:30 in the morning. If you have access, it airs on the Altitude channel at the following times.
