hi to all,ive just bought a cyclocross bike
and would like to no the best way to train on these bikes, how many
miles and what time etc,any help or advice please thanks
All training starts by getting on the bike. How many miles or how much time you spend depends on what you are used to doing. If you don't ride at all start out with 30-60 minute rides just to get used to riding every day and go up from there. If your only riding cross I don't think you'll need to ride over three hours at a time and I wouldn't start training until later this winter. The 2007 cross season ends this weekend in Kansas City so it doesn't make sense to start for 2008 now and burn out before the new season. When you do start just go for long slow rides to build a good base and slowly build on the intensity as you get closer to the season. Joe Friel wrote the cyclist training bible and it's a great read to get started.
