It's cold, but things are heating up

Posted by whitey on 1/17/2007 on whitey's blog

The weather here has been very cold and my training has been taking a back seat to the Crash and Burn Kit. VeloNews did a nice review on it in January’s issue and the orders have been rolling in. People from all over the country and one from the United Kingdom have been ordering. In the next few weeks Whitey’s Crash and Burn Kit will take another leap forward with its new label presenting the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine logo and directions on the back. This will set my kit even further ahead of the competition. So if want what will soon be a vintage label you better order soon.

I should have gotten a desk job

The little paradise I call Boulder, hasn’t been exactly that lately. It has been cold all week and today we’ve already gotten 15 inches of snow and it’s still coming down. It’s not supposed to stop until tomorrow and accumulate to over 2 feet. I have been working as a bike messenger and normally enjoy it but today I envied all the cubical workers I deliver to. Sitting there, all warm, getting ready to go home early. The city and county shut down at 1:00 today. It was so bad I spent most of the time walking my bike from place to place instead of riding it. One of my deliveries was up at Chautauqua, which is at the top of a pretty big hill. On the way down I crashed three times. There was so much snow it didn’t hurt but I was really wet. Thankfully there was no need for the Crash and Burn Kit. It felt really good to get in my car and turn on the heat.
