Check out the full results from Cross Vegas here at Cyclocrossworld.com I finished 24th, which is awesome! Just look at some of the big names I’m surrounded by. My son Jake also had a great race today at the Boulder Research Park. After the race he described it like this “When I was going real hard my heart started to feel weird and it was hard to breath”. Well said Jake. You should have seen him carrying his bike up the hills; the kid does not know how to quit. Also check out the proposed Tour of America. $11,000,000 worth of prize money from the Atlantic to the Pacific and 25 of the best teams in the world. That’s bigger than the Tour de France and on our soil.

Priorities Are a Changin'

I have been so busy working lately that my training has taken a huge hit. When I ride, I feel good but I’m afraid the lack of volume is going to be a problem. With tickets booked and race entry paid, I need to get my butt in shape before Cross Vegas. It’s probably going to be the biggest and most exciting cross race in the history of this country.

Tomorrow I’ll get a good training ride in and should be able to from this point on. At least for the next few months anyway. My priorities have been slowly changing from racing to building my businesses. It’s a much needed change for me and I probably won’t race on the road full-time next year. Cyclocross is more of a working man's sport and I love it, so that’s what I’ll concentrate on. One hour of gritty all out racing is more my style anyway.

DBC Events Going Big

I stopped by Denver Boulder Couriers the other day to get some inside information on the first ever UCI cross race in Las Vegas. Luckily I was able to catch the main man himself, Chris Grelish, who is also promoting the Redline Cup on 11/3 and the Boulder Cup on 11/4. If you were at last years Boulder Cup you know it’s not one to be missed and the same will undoubtedly hold true for his three events this year. Cross Vegas will be under the lights in Vegas on Wednesday September 26 during Interbike. Can you say BLING, BLING. Rumor is that the field may be limited to only 100 of the best cross racers in the world. This will be an event not to be missed. I’ve been preparing for it since I heard about it back in July.
